Jonathan Isaac Gifts ‘Judah 1’ Shoes to High School Basketball Team

By Movieguide® Contributor

Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac donated a pair of his new Judah 1 shoes to every member of the Regents School of Austin high school basketball team.

“Taking the Word of God on the court 🏀 Jonathan Isaac gifts Christian high school team @weareunitus Judah 1’s, empowering young athletes to express their faith,” Sports Spectrum wrote.

Sports Spectrum reported, “Isaac donated the Ruach (“spirit” in Hebrew) colorway shoes with the Bible verse John 14:26, which says, ‘But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.'”

“Jonathan Isaac is my role model. I love being able to wear a shoe with a Bible verse on it and show that my life is more than basketball,” said Paul Fedd, the team’s captain.

“As a team we are extremely grateful to Jonathan Isaac for donating his new shoe to us,” head coach Sam Burmeister said. “It means a lot that we are the first high school team to wear them. Our mission at Regents is to redeem sports for Christ. Wearing these shoes gives us the opportunity to show God to other players, coaches and fans.”

The Judah 1 shoes come from Issac’s new clothing line, UNITUS.

“UNITUS gives you a way to confidently wear what you believe, without compromising style or performance. But it’s more than cool clothes—UNITUS is a community of people rallied around faith, family, freedom, and the pursuit of true greatness. Together, we rise above by working every day to be the best we can be, joyfully serving others with integrity, and standing for what’s right,” the brand’s website reads.

“I hope people will feel like they are a part of a unique moment in history and a move of God,” Isaac told the Washington Examiner of the shoe. “With this being the first NBA basketball sneaker with visible Bible verses, I hope it encourages believers to stand boldly for their faith in a culture that, in my opinion, has become increasingly hostile towards it. I hope a sense of pride develops where people are enthusiastic about having a brand that truly represents their values on and off the court.”

Known for taking a stand, Jonathan Isaac refused to kneel for the national anthem or wear a Black Lives Matter shirt and now Isaac announced his launch for a new clothing line.

Isaac revealed that he will launch UNITUS, a clothing brand focused on freedom and positive values.

Isaac told CBN’s Faithwire, “UNITUS is desperately needed today because more and more brands in the sports and leisure wear space are abandoning the consumers’ desire for them to be impartial on matters of culture, spirituality, and politics. Many brands have overtly endorsed harmful and divisive ideologies that have left consumers looking for alternatives.”

Isaac also said that there is a huge need for a “hopeful brand bolstered by values of faith in Christ, American freedom, and family-building.”
