Sadie Robertson Huff Shares Importance of Being ‘In The Word’ With Your Children

By Movieguide® Contributor

Sadie Robertson Huff and her sisters just sat down to talk about the importance of setting up “good things” in their children’s lives this year.

“It really hit me that this is the first year that I can think of that is really just for my kids,” sister-in-law Mary Kate explained during an episode of Huff’s “WHOA That’s Good” podcast. “I feel like, looking at this year, it was kind of like, ‘Okay, what am I wanting for them? What good things do I want to set up in their lives this year?’”

She shared that part of that is reading her Bible every day, saying, “I want to be in the Word every day, but I also want to make sure my kids are seeing me [in the Word].”

“I feel like [I’m] now realizing my life and my habits don’t just affect me anymore,” Mary Kate said. “They affect our whole family.”

Huff agreed, saying that she often reads her Bible at her office instead of at home or before her children are awake. She also shared a story about her daughter, Honey, and how she started preaching Scripture for her parents after seeing Huff reading her Bible.

“I was like, ‘I need to do this with her more,’” Huff recalled. “We always think, ‘Oh, I wish I learned Scripture more when [I] was younger’…to make it something in the home that’s fun, that [your kids] see you value and use in your life…it’s awesome.”

Huff often speaks about the importance of trusting in God’s plan.

“The minute you stop praying for your circumstances to change and you start praying for your heart to change, that’s when everything’s going to start happening for you,” Huff said during an appearance on TBN’s PRAISE. “Because when you pray for your circumstances to change, you get discouraged when nothing’s changing, but when you stop, and you pray for your heart to change…that’s when you have peace that surpasses all understanding. You’ve got to believe He’s fighting for you…and in your weakness, He will be your strength.”

The podcast host and author also emphasizes conquering your fears and anxieties with God’s help.

“God’s word says that He didn’t give us a spirit of fear BUT one of power, love and a sound mind! It also says He gives PEACE that surpasses ALL understanding,” she wrote in a recent Instagram caption. “So, although life is wild, and our circumstances might give us legitimate reasons for our anxiety, more legitimate than that is the fact that the God of peace is with you! I have to daily hang on to that truth and the scriptures! I also have friends who know the ways that I struggle with fear who pray with me, and encourage me! Don’t do this alone!”

Movieguide® previously reported on Huff’s messages about overcoming fear:

In a recent podcast, DUCK DYNASTY’s mother and daughter duo, Korie Robertson and Sadie Robertson Huff, talk about anxiety and how we should respond to it.

Robertson and Huff also talk about how they use the Word of God and God’s promises to conquer fear in their lives.

“This is not something new that people are anxious or people worry, I mean Jesus addressed it… over and over again. Old Testament, New Testament, so it’s not something new,” Robertson shared.

“God has an abundant life for us, he has a life and he tells us ‘do not fear for I am with you’. And you know when we are followers of Jesus he tells us, he’s like, I’m going and I’m leaving the spirit with you we have the spirit of God in us so we have we should be walking differently.”
