Gordon Ramsay’s Daughter Reflects on Their Sweet Relationship: ‘We Laugh’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Gordon Ramsay and his daughter Tilly have teamed up on a cooking show for the first time.

“The duo will appear on MASTERCHEF JUNIOR, which returns on Monday night,” PEOPLE reported. “The FOX cooking competition’s 9th season sees Tilly, 22, join on as a full-time judge for the first time. Gordon continues hosting and Aarón Sánchez and Daphne Oz return as judges.”

MASTERCHEF JUNIOR is a cooking competition between children ages 8 to 13 who compete to win a trophy as well as $100,000. The show has been running since 2013.

“We laugh, he makes me laugh all the time. We annoy each other, don’t get me wrong. We tease each other constantly,” Tilly said of her time with her dad on set.

“We’d commute home together. The car journeys home in the evening were lovely. We’d just chat about everything about the day,” she added. It’s just such a nice thing to do with him, spend that time together.”

This wasn’t Tilly’s first time on TV, though.

“Tilly has the credentials of chef, television host, and social media influencer on her resume. Tilly first appeared on the Fox reality show competition on a guest spot around a decade prior. She also served on the panel during MASTERCHEF JUNIOR: HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS,” TV Insider reported.

While Gordon has a reputation for his harsh and abrasive critiques on TV, Tilly shared that he’s very different in real life.

“Whenever someone asks if my dad is like he is on TV at home, he could not be more opposite. He is like a teddy bear. He is so energetic. I’d say he is a good cop more than my mom, to be honest,” she shared.

“Dad is very passionate about food. I’ve seen that at a young age. He is just so much fun. I love being around him. I’d like to say I’m a mini version of him, which I’m starting to see,” she added.  “We’re both very competitive toward each other and take jabs at each other. It’s such a great relationship. I’m grateful to have that with him.”

Family is important to Gordon, and he and his wife, Tana, just welcomed their sixth child, son Jesse, in November.

“Really Extraordinary, just blessed. I’m also sure I’ll be the oldest dad at the drop-off at school, so I’ll keep my cap and glasses on,” he quipped after his son’s birth.

Movieguide® previously reported on Ramsay:

While chef Gordon Ramsay is known for sharp criticism and cutting remarks, the father of five reveals his softer side when it comes to his family.

“I think that everyone’s got a good side and a bad side in them,” Ramsay told PEOPLE. “I’m just very good at highlighting the bad that turned into something incredible.”

“The kids have brought the most emotion out of me,” he added. “It’s funny, isn’t it?… Tana’s super fierce, an ex-Montessori school teacher. So I’m the softie.”

Ramsay shares five children with wife Tana: Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 23, Matilda, 21, and Oscar, 4.
