Actresses Keira Knightley and Rosamund Pike recently sat down to reminisce about their time filming the 2005 hit PRIDE & PREJUDICE.

“I learned a lot from you because you were, you had this unbelievable work ethic,” Pike, who played Jane Bennet, commended Knightly. “I mean, you know what was on your shoulders age 19 was just, I don’t know if you go back and think, give your 19-year-old self a pat on the back.”

Knightley played Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bennet, a main character in the film.

Pike continued in the Vanity Fair interview, “I mean…the experience of playing Lizzie is totally different from the experience of playing Jane. You know, you might be in one scene a day, or you might have a day off. With Lizzie, you don’t have any days off. You’re in from morning till night. And so…playing a lead is very, very — it’s a totally different ball game.”

Though Pike’s Jane didn’t say too much in the movie, the actress played her with a confidence that Knightley admired.

“You knew what you were doing [in] like this amazing way. You had confidence…about yourself,” Knightley said. She joked, “I mean, probably you didn’t, because you were in your 20s, and who has confidence in the 20s? But what it looked like was that you had this amazing confidence about yourself, which I think, I sort of thought that’s a wonderful trait.”

Pike shared how as an only child in real life, getting to plat the older sister in the film was very meaningful to her.

“I think it was a great treat for me to suddenly get to play the older sister of this amazing family of girls, and I loved it. I loved the feeling of being close to you all,” she said.

“Sometimes between takes you and I would go up to our bedroom, to Lizzie and Jane’s bedroom, and just, you know, instead of going off, we’d sit on our bed and chat,” Pike added.

Fans loved seeing the pair reunited.

“Meanwhile I’m still watching it multiple times a year 😍” one user said on Instagram. Another person added, “Rosamund Pike was the first ‘Jane’ who really looked like Jane Bennett.”

Pride & Prejudice has had legs, hasn’t it?” Matthew Macfadyen, who played Mr. Darcy, shared. “I don’t know how things are going to continue and whether they’ll last or whether people will keep watching them, but people are still watching it.”
