In his latest single, titled “Hated,” Zach Williams sings about staying strong in your faith, even when culture is against you.

“’Hated’ explores the challenges of staying true to your faith in a culture that doesn’t always accept it,” a press release announced. “Instead of chasing the world’s fleeting approval, the song calls listeners to anchor their identity in Christ — reminding us that eternal hope far outweighs temporary acceptance.”

Williams released the lyric video last weekend, saying, “This song is about making peace with the fact that not everyone will understand or agree with your faith. At the end of the day, I’d rather be known for following Jesus than for compromising who I am to fit in.”

The lyrics proclaim a simple yet powerful message:

Cause being loved by the world
Is overrated
I think I’d rather
Be hated
For loving You
Who loved me first
Like nothing here on earth

A clip posted to Instagram captured Williams singing the song acoustically.

“I already love this song. Thank you, Zach! You have inspired my walk with Jesus from the beginning 5 years ago and I am very grateful,” one user commented. Another person added, “Your music is the greatest gift I have ever received, and it keeps on giving. Cannot wait to hear this song!”

The single is the first song released from his upcoming album, Jesus Loves, arriving Sept. 19.

“I’ve always believed in writing songs for real people who are going through real things,” he said. “This album is an invitation for the misfits, the church kids, and the prodigals and is a reminder that no matter your story, you’re already loved.”

Williams, a two-time Grammy award winner, is passionate about using his platform to spread the gospel message. This fall, he is headlining “Zach Williams Revival Nights,” a concert collaboration alongside artists such as We The Kingdom, Ben Fuller and Leanna Crawford.

A description of the event reads, “Zach Williams Revival Nights is back and offers more than just a concert; it’s an evening of revival and renewal. Attendees are encouraged to come as they are and experience the transformative power of music, worship, and community. Whether you’re seeking hope, healing, or simply a night of incredible music, Zach Williams’ Revival Nights Tour is sure to be an experience like no other.”

This event will take place Oct. 1 through Oct. 28 at locations around the country. KLOVE, Air1 Radio, Altrua HealthShare, Food For the Hungry and the Awakening Foundation will support the event.

Williams career is an important reminder that, at the end of the day, all that matters in our lives is loving God.
