BLUEY will make the jump from screen to page with a new graphic novel based on a fan-favorite episode.
“Navigate bittersweet endings and unexpected beginnings with Bluey in this graphic novel chapter book based on the wildly successful animated series BLUEY, as seen on Disney+,” an official synopsis of Bluey: The Sign reads.
A press release from publisher Penguin Random House stated, “Bluey: The Sign will be a deluxe comic-style chapter book at 144 pages, with the story divided into eight chapters for easy reading. With a striking embossed high-gloss cover and full-color interiors, this special edition chapter book will cater to a wide age range.”
The graphic novel is based on the popular Season 3 episode “The Sign,” which sees Bluey and Bingo struggling to adjust to the idea of their family moving.

Movieguide® nominated the episode for a Teddy Bear Award®.
The episode made headlines around the world as children and parents alike found themselves moved by the episode’s themes.
BLUEY creator Joe Brumm told Deadline, “Most of the episodes that have cut through with adults are based on something real. Usually they’re related to something I’ve learned having kids, or my wife has experienced or just something I notice that my kids keep doing. An episode really wouldn’t start until I’d found a bit of truth like that. I wouldn’t necessarily understand it and often the episode is an exploration of that.”
“That’s why kids and adults see themselves reflected in it. You love your children to death and they change you completely. They pull your insides out. You’ll cry so much more as parents, but there is so much more reward and meaning.”
The success of “The Sign,” which was four times as long as a regular episode of BLUEY, even spurred Brumm on to work on BLUEY: THE MOVIE, due out in 2027.
“I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on ‘The Sign’ in Series 3, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that,” he said in a press release posted to the BLUEY website. “I’ve always thought BLUEY deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.”
Daley Pearson and Charlie Aspinwall, co-founders and directors at Ludo Studio, one of the producers of the movie, said they are “excited…to share a new beautiful BLUEY story by Joe Brumm with families around the world.”
Bluey: The Sign will hit bookstores on Nov. 4, 2025, something to tide fans over until BLUEY: THE MOVIE premieres in 2027.
