After taking a year off, for KING & COUNTRY will return with new single “World On Fire.”
“It’s been quite the year for all of us, hasn’t it!?” brother Joel and Luke Smallbone shared in a statement. “For us, it’s been a time to re-create, be with family, pray, recalibrate, and let God breathe fresh vision into our hearts.”
Their statement continued, “Out of that refining has come a renewed clarity and passion. ‘World on Fire’ is an anthem of joy and hope set to a global rhythm — marking the start of a brand new era. October 3 is just the beginning, and we cannot wait to embark on this joyous journey with you.”
The band also shared a message about “World On Fire”s release on Instagram, writing, “This year at home has allowed us to re-create, to be with family, pray, recalibrate, and to look to the future with clarity, exuberance and passion.”

“It’s our prayer that it sparks hope within you — a hope that we can carry into our communities and a world in need. We can’t wait to embark on this joyous journey with you,” the post concluded.
This isn’t the only exciting return for KING & COUNTRY are making — the band recently announced they’ll be putting on their annual Christmas shows, “A Drummer Boy Christmas: The Live Experience.”
“We’re doing these concerts [in] theaters and amphitheaters,” Joel told The Christian Post. “Other than the Opry, we usually do these massive, kind of arena, big, bombastic shows. But what we discovered last year at the Beacon Theater in New York and the O2 Theater in London is there’s something doubly impacting about being up-close and personal.”
He added, “We might be adding some brand-new original for KING & COUNTRY songs that we will have never played live before.”
Joel also teased some of the group’s new music, saying there is a “newness” in for KING & COUNTRY’s upcoming sound and vision.
“I’ve discovered things. We’ve discovered things. A newness to where Luke and I are at, even as a duo,” he said. “I’m literally in my living room, working on music. Usually when we’ve got music, we’re touring, we’re in the middle of everything. So it’s like, ‘Let’s make it up as we go.’ This time, it’s been a full-time job just creating.”
