Thomas Rhett and Brandon Lake go together to record some new songs, which fans may or may not get to hear.

“No clue if the songs me and @brandonlake wrote will ever come out but we sure had a good time. Love ya brother,” Rhett wrote on social media alongside photos from their past recording session.

“MY BROTHER. Love you! We gotta release em they’re too good,” Lake commented. “All 4 or 5 of em I can’t even remember hahaha. What a day!”

In 2023, Lake and Rhett released a live version of “Talking to Jesus,” that many Christian music fans enjoy.

Rhett said at the time, “I heard this song for the first time a couple years ago while driving the kids to school and it just hit me like a ton of bricks. Since then I have become great friends with Brandon. We had talked about collaborating for a while and when I found out he was playing a show in Nashville, he asked me to come sing a song with him.”

“Obviously I chose this one because of the impact it has had on my life. We wrote a new verse and got to play it at the Ryman,” he said.

Earlier this year, Rhett teamed up with worship artist Forrest Frank for “Nothing Else.” The song shares gratitude for life and the little things. Rhett previously partnered with Frank when he was part of Surfaces for their song, “C’est La Vie.”

In 2021, Rhett partnered with Chris Tomlin for the song “God Who Listens.”

“This song is centered around what sets God apart from all the other idols and gods in the world—He listens. Not sometimes, but always. You know, sometimes He is listening and moving in our lives, and we have no idea, and sometimes He is listening and moving, and it is so apparent,” Tomlin said of the song’s message.

“Getting to write this one with my close friend, Thomas Rhett, was something I will never forget. I hope this song touches you the way it has me and reminds you that we pray to a God who listens to us, sees us, and loves us,” Tomlin said.

Tomlin and Rhett have a lot in common. They are both Christian artists, are girl dads, and each has a wife named Lauren. They say their faith is integral to who they are.

Rhett and Tomlin first collaborated together for Rhett’s song, “Christmas in the Country,” which Tomlin helped him write.
