Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson shared how the Lord helped him overcome a dark time in his life and why after that experience he had no choice but to share the Gospel using his platform.

“That’s just a moment to testify about the power of Jesus Christ and, you know, I experienced it here in my life. You know, I was someone who struggled with depression, suicidal thoughts, with all the things that I’ve been through and just living a life in darkness, and how it brought me to my lowest points. But only Jesus pulled me out, man, I tried everything else and it didn’t work; only Jesus,” Henderson shared. “Just seeing what He has done in my life and just experiencing His goodness and His mercy, it gave me no choice but to share with others, man, and share that hope that’s with Jesus Christ with others.”

Henderson was a part of last year’s National Championship winning Ohio State football team which was defined by their faith. Now he has gone on to the NFL and has had a stellar rookie year, rushing nearly 800 yards through 14 games this season. He has had multiple breakout games and has always credited the Lord for his success afterwards.

“I can’t do it without Jesus,” Henderson said when asked how he feels about making such a huge impact during his rookie season.

“I’ve just been staying patient, trusting in the Lord’s plan,” he told THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL after scoring three touchdowns in one game. “Just continuing to do my part, and the rest I just leave up to him.”

As he continues to credit the Lord for his success, Henderson has also shared that to prepare for games, he spends time with the Lord, placing his career into His hands.

The biggest thing, most importantly, something that really helps me, you know, prepare for these games is just seeking the Lord,” Henderson previously said. “Spending time in the word, spending time in prayer. I think just trusting the Lord’s plan. Just knowing that He has a plan for me and [continuing] to do my part, coming to practice each and every day. Just trying to be the best that I can be and honor [God] with the work that I put in.”

Praise the Lord for the amazing success Henderson has seen throughout his rookie season. Hopefully he will continue to see victories on and off the field and have a platform to share his faith with millions of fans.
