TODAY’s cast and crew recently joined together to pray with Savannah Guthrie for the safe return of her mother, who has been missing for over a month.

“You know, it was such a moving morning yesterday here in Studio 1A,” anchor Craig Melvin said of Guthrie’s recent visit to the TODAY set. “And one of the most moving parts came…when Dylan Dreyer, certified meteorologist and also apparently a pastor in training, led us in spontaneous prayer.”

Dreyer shared, “It felt like the right moment for all of us. We all feel so helpless during this situation. When I feel helpless, I pray, and we talk about how the TODAY show is a family, and here we were, each of us praying individually. Why not hold hands and send up one big prayer to God? Let’s ask for a miracle. He wants to feel needed, right? And so we asked for that miracle, and if you don’t ask, you don’t receive.”

“But I think we also needed peace and comfort,” she continued, “And prayer does that. And I think Savannah felt our love as a family. We gave that love to her as our gift to her.”

Anchor Carson Daly added, “There were 100 people in the room, and she came into the middle, no speech, just spoke from the heart, and said the most perfect words you could ever imagine, and looked every one of this family in the eyes. Yesterday was, I think, one of the most special days, not just in our lives professionally, but personally. Her grace is second to none, under pressure, and her faith…I just can’t say enough incredible things about what an amazing spirit she is.”

Guthrie’s mother, Nancy, was reported missing at the beginning of February in a suspected abduction. The investigation is ongoing.

TODAY’s fourth-hour hosts Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager also spoke about seeing Guthrie, with Jones saying, “I’m proud of Savannah, and I’m rooting for Savannah, and I know the strength that it would’ve taken to even just come in here and to be amongst all of us.”

The Wrap reported on Guthrie’s visit, writing that she was quoted telling the morning show’s cast and crew, “I wanted you to know that I’m still standing and I still have hope and I’m still me. I don’t know what version of me that will be, but it will be…I have every intention of coming back. I don’t know how to come back, but I don’t know how not to. You’re my family, and I would like to try.”

Continue to keep the Guthrie family and Nancy in your prayers.
