UNBORN IN THE USA: INSIDE THE WAR ON ABORTION

"Edgy and Provocative"

What You Need To Know:

UNBORN IN THE USA presents itself as being an edgy, pro-choice investigation into the growing pro-life movement. When all is said and done, however, it’s the pro-lifers who seem more logical, more reasonable, more compassionate, and more intelligent. The pro-choicers are often angry, physically abusive, short-tempered, and foul-mouthed. The movie starts with the Supreme Court decision restricting partial-birth abortion and quotes various pro-choice leaders to say this is a real step backward for the court. It then embarks on an investigation of the growing pro-life movement.

Bit by bit, it makes the case that these are babies, that they have value, and that the other side is irrational. Regrettably, there are some scenes of fights instigated by the pro-choicers, one where a woman slugs a 6-year-old boy, another where policemen antagonize and rough up peaceful pro-life demonstrators, and lots of gruesome pictures of aborted babies. There are also 12 obscenities, mostly the “f” word. UNBORN IN THE USA is not for everyone but it has gotten good critical recommendations from the left wing. Therefore, it serves its purpose of reaching the selfish and the desensitized with the important message of life.

Content:

(CC, BB, LL, VVV) Strong Christian worldview presented in a supposedly neutral context showing both sides of the abortion argument but eventually the pro-lifers seem more logical, more winsome and more intelligent; 12 obscenities and one obscene gesture; very strong violent images include some fights, including fist fights between pro-life people and pro-choice people, little boy is struck by a pro-choice woman, police rough up pro-life demonstrators, lots of pictures, films and models of aborted babies with lots of blood and body parts; no sex; no nudity; no alcohol; no smoking; and, nothing else objectionable.

UNBORN IN THE USA: INSIDE THE WAR ON ABORTION presents itself as an edgy, pro-choice investigation into the growing pro-life movement.

First stop is Focus on the Family, where the filmmakers sit in on a class where students are being taught the counter pro-choice arguments. Next, this movie follows the class to a local university where they set up gigantic pictures of aborted babies and engage in discussions with the university students. The pro-lifers are taught to be kind, considerate and to listen carefully and compassionately. The pro-choicers are arrogant, mean, foul-mouthed, and abusive.

The movie next moves to Operation Mobilization, the blocking of abortion centers and then to the groups that decide to use pictures in public places as billboards to inform people about the devastation of abortion on babies. It interviews the leaders and even the group that collected babies out of an abortion mill dumpster in Chicago.

UNBORN IN THE USA is not for everyone, but it has received good critical recommendations from the left wing. Therefore, it serves its purpose of reaching the selfish and the desensitized with the important message of life.
