The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which produces the Oscar ceremony each year, has decided to expand its list of nominees for Best Film from five to ten.
The move is expected to let popular big studio movies like THE DARK KNIGHT, IRON MAN and UP compete with the smaller, less popular independent movies that lately have been getting all of the Oscar nominations.
Each year, MOVIEGUIDE® has been nominating 10 movies to compete for its Best Family Movie Crystal Teddy Bear Award.
