‘Grateful For What God Did In My Life’: Anne Wilson Celebrates Book Publication

Grammy-nominated artist Anne Wilson is reflecting on the impact of her book, “My Jesus: From Heartache to Hope,” one year after its publication.

“My Jesus: From Heartache to Hope came out one year ago!!!” she captioned an Instagram post. “I’m so grateful for what God did in my life and the story He wrote for me.”

She continued, “It’s been the joy of my heart to see the testimonies that have come from y’all reading this book. If it’s encouraged you, let me know…I pray Jesus continues to move through your life and that you KNOW your Jesus.”

Wilson celebrated the publication in a previous post celebrating “God’s goodness.”

“To watch what He has done in my life has been an absolute joy and honor,” the singer wrote. “Every moment of pain and suffering was used for my good and the good of His kingdom…I’m so grateful that my story is making a difference in the life of so many. I just can’t believe in 5 short years all that God has done. A full record and now my very first book at 20 years old. Grateful is an understatement for how I feel today.”

“My Jesus” details the heartbreaking death of Wilson’s brother, who passed away in a car accident.

“[Writing] was overall a really incredible process that I think helped me face the loss of my brother for the first time in five years,” she told the Christian Post. “I was actually going through counseling right when I wrote the book…about the grief cycle on losing my brother. So it was kind of a double whammy, like going through two things at the same time. And it was like the Lord was really healing my heart, and it was very therapeutic for me to go through both things. So it was actually a gift to just have that healing come through writing the book.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Wilson’s book:

Up-and-coming Christian artist Anne Wilson recently announced the release of her first book. ‘My Jesus: From Heartache to Hope,’ based on her hit song My Jesus.

The 20-year-old singer-songwriter burst onto the Christian music scene with her release of My Jesus last year.

Now, Wilson wrote a book based on the song, which is set to release on Oct. 25.
“After seeing the impact that ‘My Jesus’ had on people, I felt like I just had to expand the story,” she said. “I could share parts of it with you now, like on interviews and zooms and podcasts, or whatever, but I can’t go into depth into the story. So I wanted to really have a moment where I could share the story, share what God’s done in my life with people, and really just write a book that provides hope for people.”

“All of us, no matter what, we’re all going through different things and we’re all struggling in this life, whether that be losing a loved one, a divorce, financial crisis, depression, anxiety, you know, COVID, someone passing away from COVID, like whatever it is, we’re all going through things,” she added. “So I think having this book, I just pray that it’s gonna be something that brings hope to people and that people can read this and find peace through reading it and find hope.”
