“Hard Fought Hallelujah” singer Brandon Lake is going country.

“God put a dream in my heart to start loving on and encouraging those leading in the country music space, and shortly after He just started flinging wide the doors,” Lake wrote in a social media post last week. “So the other week my team and I had the honor of hosting over 25 of the best Country Music artists and songwriters along with some of my closest friends in the faith based music space. I knew we’d get something special but I never would’ve thought we’d get over 43+ songs in 5 days 🤯”

Some of the singers in the clip were Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett, Bailey Zimmerman, Drew Parker and Chandler Walters.

“IDK what this next chapter looks like BUT I know it’s gonna be special cause it was birthed from genuine love and friendship. Praying God continues to allow me to love this community that’s blessed me so much and if He’s willing allow me to contribute a lil something of my own,” he continued. “Thank you to everyone who poured out your heart and poured into me over those special 5 days. God bless Country & Christian Music! 🤠🙏🏼”

Lake recently partnered up with Cody Johnson for a version of “When a Cowboy Prays.”

“The one and only @codyjohnson yall!!! I could not be more HONORED & PROUD of this version of ‘When A Cowboy Prays.’ I tear up every time I listen! So thankful for this collab and this friendship. “Cowboy or not, I’m praying it blesses every one of you and reminds ya the power of prayer,” Lake said before the song released.

Lake isn’t a full-blown country artist, but he loves to wear cowboy hats and has some country-rock-tinged notes in some of his songs, like in “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” which he collaborated with country artist Jelly Roll on.

Lake grew up on a farm and currently lives on one in South Carolina with his wife and three sons. They raise donkeys, cattle and “petting zoo” animals.

“If we lived in Nashville, I could be writing songs with the guys that I create with every week, but I feel in my spirit that we need to be with our community — people that have known me since I was 15 and are proud of me but not impressed by me. I want to make this my Nashville,” Lake said.

Stay tuned for more Brandon Lake country hits — hopefully he won’t make fans wait too long to hear his new songs with talented country artists.
