Brittany Lutz Explains Why God Calls Us to Change: ‘Not Too Far Gone’

Brittany Lutz, wife of TWILIGHT actor Kellen Lutz, is sharing how change can be crucial to following God’s will.

You’re allowed to change. In fact, we’re supposed to. Had I stayed who I was because people told me I should or I was too afraid to step out of my old life into a one God was drawing me into, I wouldn’t be experiencing the dream of a life I have now,” she said on Instagram.

“Don’t let who you used to be or the words of others stop you from growing into the beautiful creation that God Himself knit together in your mother’s womb. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139) and God has the most incredible life for you,” she continued.

Lutz also shared hope for those who might think that it’s too late for change.

“You’re not too far gone,” she said. You haven’t missed it. You might have to get up and walk away from some things and some people in order to access God’s best. But I can speak from experience that although it is often hard, it is beyond worth it.”

Lutz pulled on 2 Corinthians 5:17 to back up her statement: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.”

A proud Christian and mother of two, Lutz proudly proclaims her faith frequently on social media. She recently quoted Christian author Hosanna Wong in a statement about finding identity in Christ:

“May we spend less time on the image we want to portray, and more time on the person we actually are.
Less time on our masks, and more time on our mindsets.
Less time on our costumes, and more time on our character.
The shallow status the world aims for is far too easy to obtain.
May we, as the children of God, have the strength to raise the standard.
May we have the boldness to disrupt the masquerade.
May we have the courage to be who we really are.”

Lutz openly shares with her followers how she feels about her walk with Christ. She talks about a lot more than just change and identity. She explores how God transformed her after a painful loss, how he fulfills promises and how God works in ways that we’re not always meant to understand.

She previously said, “God will often ask us to do scary things without showing us how it’s going to turn out…We can’t know it all. There’s only One who does. Our job is simply to be obedient and leave the consequences up to God. It’s called faith.”

Movieguide® recently reported on one of Lutz’s video devotionals:

“It’s natural to anxiously wonder whether it’s all going to work out,” Lutz said. “Faith says that we believe our God to be bigger than our circumstances and that He can do anything and everything, but God isn’t a performer, waiting to fulfill the latest desires of our hearts.”

She explained that, while God is “the provider,” He is also “the father,” and our relationship with Him is centered on love.

“God sees every moment and strategically interweaves our moments, joys, and frustrations into the lives of others,” she said. “He doesn’t do this for us to please us or satisfy us. He does this for the master purpose of eternity.”
