Maybe you know him best as SAVED BY THE BELL’s A.C. Slater, but Christian actor and TV host Mario Lopez is getting flack for saying that 3-year-olds shouldn’t be allowed to choose their gender.

On the CANDACE OWENS SHOW last month, Lopez and Owens discussed the ever-present cultural conversation of transgenderism and transitioning, which is seeping into children’s lives.

Lopez said the following, according to the Daily Wire.

“If you’re three years old, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make this determination then,” Lopez said on the show. “It’s sort of alarming, and my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later.”

Lopez said that parents need to “be the adult in the situation” when their children do what children usually do: Say confusing things about their own identity.

It’s not shocking but plenty of naysayers took to social media to blast Lopez because of his stance. He responded via Yahoo News as The Daily Wire presents.

“I am trying to understand it myself, and please don’t lump me into that whole [group],” Lopez answered, according to Yahoo! News. “I’m kind of blown away too. Look, I’m never one to tell anyone how to parent their kids obviously, and I think if you come from a place of love, you really can’t go wrong, but at the same time, my God, if you’re 3 years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way or you think you’re a boy or a girl or whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make this determination then, well, OK, then you’re going to be a boy or a girl, whatever the case may be … It’s sort of alarming, and my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later.”

“When you’re a kid … you don’t know anything about sexuality yet. You’re just a kid,” he added.

Unlike other popular Hollywood stars like Charlize Theron who is raising her adopted son as her “daughter,” it’s refreshing to see someone who understands the longtime consequences of gender bending.

Many members of the LQBTQAI community put Lopez on blast, as he also supports the organization GLAAD and cite that his conflicting views are detrimental and misinformed.

In 2018, Lopez decided to make another proclamation. He got baptized in the Jordan River while touring overseas!

In addition, Lopez in working on what he hopes will turn into a family-friendly comedy series.

Let us know what you think of his bold proclamations in the comments below.
