Christian Quarterback Russell Wilson and Wife Ciara Sign Deal with Amazon Studios

NFL quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, Grammy-winning singer Ciara, announced a new partnership with Amazon Studios.

The duo signed a deal with the significant streamer to produce scripted series and movies through their production company, Why Not You Productions.

“We’re so excited and honored to work with Amazon Studios,” the couple said. “They’ve quickly become one of the most exciting studios in entertainment and have shown a strong belief in our vision to bring inspiring stories to the world. We can’t wait to begin our work together.”

Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said she is excited to work with the Super Bowl champion and the award-winning artist to create positive entertainment.

“Russell and Ciara are a true powerhouse producing duo — both with extraordinary success in their respective careers on the field and the stage, their business ventures and shared dedication to philanthropy. We share a passion for developing diverse and emotionally connecting stories that can inspire the world and spread positivity and hope. Our world certainly needs it,” Salke said.

Russell is an eight-time Pro Bowl quarterback entering his 10th season with the Seattle Seahawks, who won the Super Bowl in 2014. He holds the NFL record for most regular-season wins by a quarterback in his first nine seasons and has the second-highest passer rating in NFL history. Ciara, whose hits include ‘Level Up” and “Body Party,” won the best shortform music video at the Grammy Awards for “Lose Control” in 2005. She has sold more than 23 million records worldwide.

The couple’s individual resumes undoubtedly speak for themselves. However, they are outspoken Christians whose central desire is to spread hope to a hurting world.

“Ever since my life’s changed, my life’s changed for the better,” Wilson told The Rock Church in 2015. “Now it doesn’t mean that all the problems and tribulations and all the things went away. Sometimes even more came, but I believe that God has chosen me for something special. I believe that he put his hand on me to guide me and guide my heart.”

“I’ve found peace and hope and love and joy in Jesus,” he added,” and he’s the way and the only way.”
