FIXER TO FABULOUS Stars Navigate Tornado Aftermath in Season 6 Renovations
By Movieguide® Contributor
Dave and Jenny Marrs are enjoying working on the second part of FIXER TO FABULOUS Season 6.
“We’re still plugging away at season six.. another reveal taking place today! We started working on this season’s homes in early spring last year and had originally scheduled to wrap in November. Then, in May, twelve tornadoes ripped through our town and changed everything,” Jenny shared Jan. 13.
“Our community is acutely aware of the devastating aftermath of a massive storm and these next last homes of the season were all damaged – hence, why we are behind our production schedule,” she said. The projects are bigger than we had originally planned because, well, when trees fall through your home, it’s a big undertaking to fix.”
Jenny stressed that their renovations aren’t about just making a place normal again — they’re about creating safety and comfort in a place where trauma occurred.
“Today’s young family huddled together in a bathroom while a 100+ year old tree fell directly where their dad had been asleep fifteen minutes before,” Marrs said. “The girls’ artwork was ruined and their craft station was flown through the air in the wind.”

“As we continue to grieve the destruction in California and the recovery efforts still taking place in North Carolina and Florida, we welcome two parents and three young children, back home,” she said. “It’s just one. But it always starts with one. 🤍”
The Marrses are busy with lots of other things besides renovating big houses. They also parent five young kids and manage a berry farm. The farm raises money for orphaned boys in Zimbabwe to have an education.
“In particular, the blueberry is very symbolic to the couple as it is a crop that will continue to yield fruit over a long period of time,” House Beautiful reported. “As the farm’s website notes, if you nurture berries and properly care for them, their investment will span decades.’ This is similar to ‘the way we are investing in the lives of the children in our program.’
Dave and Jenny are also in the middle of a lawsuit that alleges the couple and their crew caused over $100,000 of repairs to the plaintiffs’ home. The Marrses claim they made efforts to fix the repairs, but the plaintiffs didn’t allow them. Their next court date is on Jan. 27.
