DirecTV and Paramount inked new programming deal that’s aimed at kids’ entertainment.

Titled “MyKids,” the new partnership will feature pay-TV channels from some of the most popular children’s programming channels for $20 a month. The bundle includes content from Paramount, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, BabyFirst TV and LooLooKids TV. MyKids joins existing Genre Pack offerings like MySports, MyEntertainment, MyNews and MiEspañol.

MyKids subscribers can add MyCinema for $9.99 a month. This add-on includes channels like Great American Family, Sony Movies and Turner Classic Movies.

Vince Torres, DirecTV Chief Marketing Officer, said that this new deal is “making it easier for more families to access the content they care about most. It’s about giving families more flexibility, more value, and the confidence that they’re getting the very best for their kids.”

Ray Hopkins, President of Paramount U.S. Distribution, said of the partnership, “DirecTV is a valued partner, and we are pleased to expand our long-standing relationship by featuring our wide array of leading programming in DirecTV’s growing portfolio of Genre Packs.”

He added, “Paramount is committed to exceptional content across broadcast, entertainment, news and sports, and we look forward to continuing to provide additional opportunities for audiences to broadly access and enjoy our fan-favorite programming and brands.”

“Paramount is one of the world’s most influential programmers, and its broad portfolio – including the CBS Network local stations – provides essential channels to many of our different Genre Packs,” said DirecTV’s Chief Content Officer Rob Thun. “Together, these combined services create a strong foundation for a more dynamic TV future, one that gives DirecTV subscribers enhanced choice and control through our industry-leading genre-based options.”

The partnership with Paramount will also flesh out DirecTV’s MySports bundle by adding “CBS owned and operated affiliates in 15 major media markets to its MySports streaming package.”

DirecTV has been attempting to improve its service in recent days as people flock to streaming services. In April, the company added eight new NBCUniversal channels: Bravo Vault, E! Keeping Up, MILLION DOLLAR, LISTING Vault, TOP CHEF Vault, GolfPass, Oxygen True Crime Archives, REAL HOUSEWIVES Vault and SNL Vault.

“DIRECTV continues to offer more choice, flexibility and control to consumers, matching the content they want to watch with how they want to watch it, and if ‘free’ is your thing, then you can enjoy more than 100 channels at no cost with MyFree DIRECTV,” said Kent Rees, General Manager for MyFree DIRECTV. “NBCU’s portfolio is a terrific addition to the lineup of 100+ FAST channels available through MyFree DIRECTV, which spans all the most popular programming genres and connects deeply devoted fans to their favorite programming at no cost.”

With such a competitive market and rough economy, it makes sense that services like DirecTV and Paramount would team up to appeal to as many customers as possible.
