NFL rookie running back Nathan Carter urges fans to move beyond simply acknowledging God’s love and instead allow it to truly transform their lives from the inside out.

“God’s love is so amazing and so powerful. His love is unconditional, never failing, always forgiving, trustworthy and freely given,” Carter wrote in the caption. “His love changes people. It can turn a terrorist into a missionary, a slave into a king, a tax collector into a disciple. His love uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. His love cares for the poor, the hungry, the outcasts, the sick and the vulnerable. His love extends to every individual on this Earth.”

God knows everything about us, and even with that, He loves us the same.

“God loves us despite what He knows about us,” the running back continued. “Our past, our mistakes, sins and addictions. He loves us so much that in the midst of how far we may have thought we’ve fallen off, He reminds us that His forgiveness is always present if we ask. No matter who you are, or what you’ve done…There is NOTHING that can separate you from the love of God!”

“God’s love is unconditional and constant. He demonstrates His love not just through words, but through action, by sending His son, Jesus, to take the just punishment for our sins so that we could know Him personally and intimately,” he emphasized.

While God’s love is all of those things, we must allow it to change us.

“All of that sounds great, and it is true, but I do have to make this important point: God loves you too much to let you stay the same,” Carter urged his followers. “It’s not good enough to say ‘God loves me,’ and yet the love of God has not changed your life. Acknowledging God’s love without allowing it to reshape us represents an incomplete faith. So many of us use God’s love as an excuse to keep living our lives the way we want. Knowing that God loves you is the starting point, not the end goal.”

The athlete referenced 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, which says, “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again”

“God’s love should change you from the inside out through the power of the Holy Spirit, and if it hasn’t, then maybe the love of God hasn’t truly taken root in your life yet,” the NFL player concluded. “Repent, embrace God’s love, read the Word, bear your cross and let His love transform you.”

He often encourages his fans in their faith through his social media platform.

“Do you want to see real change? Spread the gospel of Jesus,” Carter wrote earlier this year. “Stop rotting your brain with politics. Get out of the comment section. Get off the reels. Get into the local church. Influence those around you by living a godly life. God is working, God is moving, God is producing beauty in the midst of the brokenness.”

Let’s not just rest in the idea of God’s love but instead respond and surrender to it, allowing Him to transform our lives.
