Gabby Barrett Celebrates ‘Exciting Releases’: New Album and Baby No. 3

By Movieguide® Contributor

Country star Gabby Barrett has some big changes coming — her second album just dropped, and Baby No. 3 will be here any day.

“[They] are both exciting releases, to be sure,” she told PEOPLE. “[But] I would have to put the baby over the album.”

“Chapter & Verse” is Barrett’s second album. Lead single “Glory Days” already has over 22 million streams on Spotify.

“3 years in the making and Chapter & Verse is officially OUT NOW,” Barrett posted on Instagram. “This album tells the story of my current chapter of life as a Christian, a mother, a wife, a songwriter and an artist, along with all the little verses that happen in between.”

Barrett and her husband, Cade Foehner, share daughter Baylah, 3, and son Augustine, 15 months.

While the singer is excited to release this new music, Barrett said her children “have made me realize that my priority is family and being a mother first, above everything else. That’s what I would truly be happy with, if I could pick one thing.”

Barrett also pointed to her faith as a way for her to balance her career and family life, saying, “That’s really what energizes me as a person, and what I trust and look to and renew my mind with.”

That love of her family can be seen on her new track “Dance Like No One’s Watching,” which is featured on “Chapter & Verse.” The song is about a father-daughter relationship.

“I grew up being a daddy’s girl, and now I get to watch my husband and daughter have that father-daughter bond,” Barrett said of the song. “That’s just irreplaceable.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the role faith plays in Barrett’s life and career:

Although Barrett is thankful for the payoff of her hard work, she also notes that she holds on to her down-to-earth roots and, most importantly, her faith in God.

“I like to show people on social media [my real life]. Social media can portray just a lot of the positive things and the upsides…but not the nitty gritty of life,” Barrett said, adding that God is at the center of her family: “When I first got married, that changed me in a lot of different ways. It makes you grow up in a lot of different ways and then when you have a baby, you grow up in even more ways. My husband and I are very large Christians and we’re very firm in our beliefs.”

She continued: “There is a term in the Christian faith called ‘dying to yourself,’ and definitely when you have a baby you learn to die to yourself and everything is just about them. And it’s actually really helpful because you definitely become more selfless and help other people in a lot of different ways.”
