Gwen Stefani shared how she and husband Blake Shelton started making a delicious timpano pasta dome every holiday season.
“We have a tradition that Blake started, actually. It’s a dish that’s basically a pizza, a pasta and, a carb-licious, like, thing. It’s called a timpano dome,” Stefani told Jimmy Fallon. “It’s a big pie. Like, a pizza pie thing. We found it in a movie…some movie that Blake found.”

“It kind of has evolved over the years. Originally we did it with, like, a pasta shell thing. I think that’s the original way that you do it. But then we were like, ‘We should make it with pizza on the outside,’ like, pizza dough. Like, why wouldn’t you do that?” Stefani continued. “I thought I would like, text the group family chat and be like, ‘Are you guys sick of this? Should we still do this?’ But everyone’s like, ‘No, we want it!’ So, it’s a tradition now.”
While the couple is known worldwide for their music stardom, they are very committed to their family and have stepped back from work in recent years to focus on that aspect. When the pair first met in 2014, the thing that stuck out to Shelton the most was how devoted Stefani was to her kids.
“The first time that I ever met Gwen was in 2014,” Shelton said during a speech at Stefani’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony. “She wasn’t like any other famous person I had ever met before. She drove herself to work in a black minivan with car seats in it. She didn’t roll in with security. She came in with a baby and two little boys – which at the time worked like security because at the time no one was going near [her]. It was chaos.”
“It was clear to me that she was a mother first and foremost over anything else in the world,” Shelton continued. “That was her No. 1 job. Now, standing here almost 10 years later, after I first met her, I can say without question that being a mother is still the most important thing in her life. I got to tell you all that’s rare in this business.”
Now that the couple has been married for over four years, they have made it clear that the reason they focus on family over their careers is because of their faith. It is fun to get a peek into their lives and see the ways that Shelton and Stefani prioritize their family.
