Hollywood Rejects Pro-Life Movie About Notorious Abortionist
Hollywood studios say GOSNELL movie about the abortionist convicted of first-degree murder is “too controversial,” the producer of the movie said this week.
Producer Phelim McAleer, who also produced the documentary FRACKNATION, told Breitbart Tuesday that a number of major movie studios, including some streaming services, have rejected the movie even through the movie has “scored off the chart at test screenings.”
Producer Ann McElhinney said Hollywood’s rejection of GOSNELL is similar to the mainstream media missing the election of Donald Trump.
“They seem to have learned nothing and don’t seem to understand who their audience is,” she said. “They don’t want anything that asks difficult questions about abortion.”
McElhinney said they specifically made their movie PG-13 friendly.
“There are no graphic images in the movie,” she noted. “We didn’t want distributors to use that as an excuse.”
The producers have also written a book based on the Gosnell case, to be released Jan. 24, 2017 by Regnery Publishing.
“This is one of the biggest crime sprees in American history,” McAleer said. “It’s a fascinating story that needs to be known. The book and movie will ensure that the coverup is ended and the truth will be known.”
Dr. Kermit Gosnell is currently serving three life sentences after being convicted of killing several babies born alive and a female patient. ABC News described him as “perhaps America’s most prolific serial killers” because he’s reported to have killed hundreds of babies born alive during phony abortion procedures over a 30-year career.
Mainstream news outlets at first declined to cover Gosnell’s trial, until public outcry on social media, especially Twitter, shamed them into covering it.
The new movie is directed by Nick Searcy of TV’s JUSTIFIED and stars Dean Cain of GOD’S NOT DEAD and TV’s LOIS & CLARK.
