Joanna Gaines recently launched her first solo show, MINI RENI, but viewers will still get a glimpse of her FIXER UPPER husband, Chip Gaines.
“Chip…he’s never too far away. You’ll see him pop in on the show, always making me laugh, keeping things light, and reminding us all of the joy in the process,” Joanna told Swooon. “He’s been my biggest cheerleader from day one, and our kids’ too. I really believe we’re where we are today because we’ve always encouraged each other to take on new challenges, ones that help us grow both as a family and with our work.”
Joanna loves the emphasis she’s getting to put on small spaces. Instead of spreading her time and efforts over a huge project as she’s done in the past, she’s puts her whole heart into small renovations.
“With MINI RENI, I saw the opportunity to show people that having a home you love and one that tells your story doesn’t have to be a matter of renovating every room, and that sometimes it’s these smaller spaces that have the biggest impact,” she explained. “And I’ve loved the process of each of these mini renovations — I’ve been able to stretch my creativity and really embrace those small details that bring a space to life.”
Though MINI RENI is Joanna’s thing, she and Chip still love to work together on projects.

“We’re opposites and we’ve worked with each other from the very beginning. I mean, even when we were dating we were taking on random little projects,” Joanna said on THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW last year. “So I think we only know how to work together. So 21 years later, we’re still doing that. So I think that’s kind of the thing for us.”
Chip explained that he is a lot more scatterbrained, while Joanna keeps them centered.
“I can’t wait for you to see these spaces,” Joanna said in a previous Instagram Reel announcing MINI RENI. “These are honestly some of my favorite projects to design because it’s smaller rooms, tighter timelines, and you really get to see how just smaller, simpler additions can make a huge impact on your home.”
In MINI RENI, she tackles three rooms in a week’s time and on a tight budget, Elle Décor reported.
MINI RENI will have nine episodes on Magnolia Network and Max. It premiered on May 14 and will run until July 9.
