Jamie Foxx ‘Doing Well’, John Boyega Says

STAR WARS star John Boyega called fellow actor and friend, Jamie Foxx, who recently suffered from an unknown health complication.
“He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro,” Boyega told PEOPLE. “He’s doing well. And then, you know, we just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return.
“I gave him the well wishes directly,” he added. “I gave him all the well wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”
Datari Turner, who co-produced Foxx’s current film, THEY CLONED TYRONE, also stated, “He’s doing amazing. I promise you. Doing really, really good. [Director] Juel [Taylor] talked to him yesterday. John Boyega talked to him yesterday. He’s in really, really good shape and spirits. And he’ll be back on the screen. He’ll be back to work very soon.”
Previously Boyega told Entertainment Tonight of his persistency with calling Foxx.
“I’ve been calling, I’m just gonna keep on calling. He better pick up. Come on Jamie!” Boyega stated, “I know he’s dealing with what he’s dealing with, and we just wish him all the best.”
At the premiere, co-star Teyonah Parris added, “He’s so generous as an actor and as a human, along with John. I got lucky to be able to work with such dope men on this project, and dope men of color, that it was just so much fun.”
“We would never work. We all just had fun laughing and partying,” she concluded.

Fox News Digital reported Porscha Coleman who spoke with Entertainment Tonight and stated, “I’ve talked to people very close to Foxx, [he] is doing well.”
“One thing about Jamie is that he’s always valued his privacy,” she continued. “If you’ve noticed, Jamie Foxx has always been on the low,” she added.
She continued, “Even when it came to dating, Jamie’s always been private, so it never surprised me. Once I heard the news, of course, I reached out, but how Foxx is doing it is how Foxx should be doing it. He’s resting, he’s well. And he’s going to be back. Trust and believe.”
