Kanye West Asks God To ‘Watch Over’ Him Amid Relationship Struggles
By Movieguide® Contributor
Rapper Kanye West says he is crying out to God as he appears to be spiraling.
“God…please watch over me and keep mind sane,” the rapper wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “I could use it right now. To anyone who feels alone, im with u and I love you.”
The post came after West went on an Instagram firestorm, posting multiple times the day of the Super Bowl as he took his children to the big game.
West was previously married to Kim Kardashian, who filed for divorce in 2021. The couple share custody of their four children.
Since the public divorce, West, who has struggled with mental health issues in the past, has become increasingly erratic. From publicly begging Kardashian to reconsider their divorce to posting threats to Kardashian’s current boyfriend, Pete Davidson, many are worried about the rapper’s mental state.
“I’ve learned that using all caps makes people feel like I’m screaming at them. I’m working on my communication. I can benefit from a team of creative professionals, organizers, mobilizers and community leaders. Thank everybody for supporting me. I take accountability. I’m still learning in real time. I don’t have all the answers. To be good leader is to be a good listener.”
That post has also since been removed.
Despite his erratic nature, West appears to cling to his faith, even creating gospel albums.

Kanye West publicly proclaimed bold, biblical statements as he detailed his platform for a potential presidential run. Some of his key points were abortion and putting prayer back in schools.
“I am pro-life because I’m following the word of the Bible,” West said in an interview with Forbes magazine.
West previously said that black Americans were “brainwashed” into having abortions and that the black population in America was decreasing due to significant violence.
“We’re [black Americans] brainwashed out here, bro. Come on, man. This is a free man talking. Democrats had us voting [for] Democrats with food stamps for years,” West said.
“What are you talking about? Guns in the ’80s, taking the fathers out the home, Plan B, lowering our votes, making us abort our children … Thou shall not kill,” he said.
Yet it’s not just about abortion for West. He’s relying on biblical principles in multiple arenas, including in schools.
“Reinstate in God’s state, in God’s country, the fear and love of God in all schools and organizations and you chill the fear and love of everything else, so that was a plan by the Devil to have our kids committing suicide at an all-time high by removing God to have murders in Chicago at an all-time high because the human beings working for the Devil removed God and prayer from the schools. That means more drugs, more murders, more suicide.”
If America allows God to return in schools, West says, we could see an increase in the culture of life.
Please pray for West and his family during this time.
