LIZZIE MCGUIRE, STAR WARS, and HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL Series: What to You Need to Know About Disney+

Disney Announced a slew of new content at their annual D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, over the weekend. The most pressing thing to know begins and ends with streaming. The long-awaited Disney+, Disney’s new streaming platform, will launch just in time for Thanksgiving on November 12, 2019.
According to a press release by Walt Disney Studios, “Disney+ will be the dedicated streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more, together, for the first time. From The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International segment, Disney+ will offer ad-free programming with a variety of original feature-length films, documentaries, live-action and animated series, and short-form content.”

Disney+ will also allow unlimited downloads and gives subscribers access to over 200 avatars for customizing their user profiles based on Disney characters.
Among the new series’ are revamps of Disney Channel’s LIZZIE MAGUIRE and a STAR WARS series starring Ewan McGregor as Obi-won Kenobi. Marvel mogul Kevin Feige announced three new Marvel spin-offs. THE MUPPETS will also come to Disney+.
Other notable content includes:
- A National Geographic show starring Jeff Goldblum (JURASSIC PARK) titled THE WORLD ACCORDING TO JEFF
- A HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL series
- THE MANDALORIAN from Lucasfilm
- FORKY ASKS A QUESTION based on the TOY STORY 4 character voiced by actor Tony Hale
- A live-action LADY AND THE TRAMP
Disney+ stole the expo with announcements to build anticipation about the November 12th date.
