MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE’s Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson are ready to take on their next challenge following the cancellation of their HGTV show.
“You can underestimate us…..we actually prefer it that way,” Sherrod posted on Instagram. “Just don’t underestimate what GOD can do for those who are faithful and do the work!”
The post, featuring photos of Sherrod, Jackson and their friends and colleagues, also included a video of Sherrod speaking at an event, where she spoke about Indigo Road Realty & Design’s future.

“So, in two years, we’ve made an empire here in Atlanta. We’ve definitely built a family,” she shared. “We are expanding to Dallas, Texas; Houston, Texas; and Orlando, Florida.”
MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE was cancelled last year, along with several other HGTV shows.
“We don’t want to trample on anybody. However, we kind of knew something was happening,” Sherrod told PEOPLE of the months before the cancellation. “Season 4 just felt very different.”
In a statement from Sherrod and Jackson following the cancellation, the couple said, “Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we’re met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE.”
“While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful. Grateful for four incredible seasons,” the statement continued. “Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive. And most of all-grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other).”
They concluded, “There’s more to say, and we’ll share soon. But for now, know this: not all setbacks are what they seem. Some blessings show up in disguise. We’ve been here before. We’ll keep counting those blessings-and keep it moving. Stay tuned.”
The couple reflected on their experience with MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE, with Sherrod telling PEOPLE it was “the full 360 of our family and our businesses.”
“It was an amazing roller coaster ride. We have no regrets, we lead with love and we leave with love,” she continued.
Elsewhere in the interview, Sherrod revealed the couple own the MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE trademark.
“For us, being able to do MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE was the full 360 of our family and our businesses. So we don’t wanna go back to like a templated show just to say we’re on TV,” she explained. “We just gonna sit still for a minute and either create, which is what’s happening now, either create the next phase for us or just not come back to TV.”
Fans of MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE are excited to see what Sherrod and Jackson do next!
