Naomi Raine Brings ‘A Message of Hope’ in Latest Song

By Movieguide® Contributor

Five-time Grammy award-winning artist Naomi Raine of Maverick City Music recently shared the first song in her upcoming album Cover the Earth.

She released “One Name (Jesus)” on March 17 with an accompanying video of the live recording.

“‘One Name’ is about Jesus and my total reliance on him,” said Raine. “Over the past few years, people have listened to my music, experienced my ministry, and have begun to know my voice and my name.”

“I just wanted to release a song about The Name that’s higher than every other name in a world where there’s so much emphasis on the names of celebrities and brands,” she added.

“I want to bring a message of hope,” she explained. “But not hope in me or my gifts, but in the God who gives them both freely, and I pray that people find hope when they listen to the song.”

The Christian Beat reports that Cover the Earth will be “a full-blown worship experience full of upbeat and praise-worthy songs that blend pop, R&B and more, while delivering encouraging and uplifting messages across ten songs and four ‘flow’ song transitions.”

The album features collaborations with other major Christian musicians, including Natalie Grant, Chandler Moore, Todd Dulaney and Lizzie Morgan.

“‘Cover the Earth’ is a project about the goodness of God, his kindness and faithfulness,” added Raine. “It is a call to action for those that love God to seek Him and spread the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere we go.”

Cover the Earth will be released on June 2.

Movieguide® previously reported on Raine:

You may know Naomi Raine from Maverick City Music hits like “Jireh” and “Promises.”

However, God’s call on Raine to sing came at two years old when she performed in her first concert. By the age of 7, she wrote her first song. Since then, Raine has won a Billboard Music Award, Dove Award, Stellar Award, and a Grammy Award.

The 35-year-old recently sat down with Relevant Magazine to discuss her career with MCM and God’s calling on her life.

“It was like living in something you dreamed about forever, but it was actually happening,” she said of her success. “I kept having to pinch myself. It was eye opening, too. I’ve always known that music was so much bigger than just the hits that we might hear or see. And getting to hear all of the categories, the different parts of music that were celebrated and awarded, was just really good. I felt like a part of the music community.”
