Former DUCK DYNASTY STAR and outspoken Christian Sadie Robertson Huff recently signed a deal with veteran producer Brad Krevoy to turn her book, “Life Just Got Real,” into a scripted series.
Robertson Huff announced her excitement for the project on her Instagram.
“Just posted this on my story, but too fun not to share with all of you here too! I really can’t believe my fiction book is about to come to life as a scripted series! feeling incredibly grateful. As always ALL glory to God and I pray God would use this show as another way to encourage people in their everyday life and bring family and friends together…” Robertson Huff wrote.
“From Dancing with the Stars runner-up and Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson comes a fun novel about two teenage girls from different backgrounds and opposite lifestyles who discover there is more to friendship than meets the eye,” the book’s synopsis reads.
The scripted series will follow the same story as the girls learn that “life is messy, love is hard, and second chances don’t come around every day.”
Deadline reported: “The series is being developed with Alfonso H. Moreno attached to showrun and Amanda Phillips and Krevoy’s MPCA set to executive produce. The deal was introduced by Dione Sheehan and negotiated by Eric Jarboe, Reuben Liber, UTA and Skrzyniarz & Mallean.”
Krevoy, a longtime friend of Movieguide®, produced all eight seasons of Hallmark’s top-rated show WHEN CALLS THE HEART. Krevoy has also made many movies like THE PRINCESS SWITCH, OPERATION CHRISTMAS DROP, and A CHRISTMAS PRINCE.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Sadie. Her energy and vision are one-of-a-kind and we have no doubt that this show will be a huge success. There is a tremendous audience that is hungry for Sadie’s special brand of family entertainment – and we’re proud to be the ones delivering this content,” Krevoy said.
Although LIFE JUST GOT REAL is Robertson Huff’s first role as producer, she is known for roles in faith-based movies GOD’S NOT DEAD 2 and I’M NOT ASHAMED.
“I am so excited to jump into the world of scripted television, and to be doing it with Brad [Krevoy] who has been producing positive, inspirational entertainment for years,” Robertson Huff said. “My hope is that this would be an encouraging show for people to watch together that has an inspirational message woven within. I can’t wait to get started!”
Both Krevoy and Robertson Huff have attended the Movieguide® Awards Gala. Krevoy earned the Epiphany Prize® for Inspiring Television Program for his work on WHEN CALLS THE HEART: THE GREATEST CHRISTMAS BLESSING.
“I want you to know that you and the MOVIEGUIDE® Awards have significantly influenced my production decisions. Ever since I met you and attended the MOVIEGUIDE® Awards seven years ago, I have focused my production and distribution activities to satisfy the audience group that you and the MOVIEGUIDE® Awards represent,” Krevoy wrote in a letter to Movieguide®. “As a result, my movies and television projects have all earned a solid profit and have been accepted by the widest possible audience. I have you to thank for everything good that has happened to my career since meeting you, and for this, I will always be so thankful.”
