Shannon Bream Celebrates Passion for Christian Music and New Book
By Movieguide® Contributor
Fox News anchor Shannon Bream enthusiastically opens up about her new book and her love for Christian music at the K-Love Fan Awards.
“I’m presenting female artists, and I’m a fan of everyone in the category…Every one of these women in this category has blessed me in some way with their music that has met me at a time when I needed it,” Bream says. “And I just love that they’ll get to feel some of the love and the appreciation from fans who have, in many places, had their lives changed by their songs.”
The Christian Beat asked Bream why she chooses to highlight Christian music through artist interviews. She gushes, “I’m such a fan…I want to share that with other people who maybe aren’t exposed to the Christian music world and don’t know how talented and amazing these artists are.”
“So, it’s a gift to me to kind of get to interview them and share their gifts with other people,” Bream says. “The audience seems to really respond to it, too. So, it’s a blessing.”
Bream’s admiration for Christian music echoes in her podcast, “Livin’ the Bream.” Bream recently told Christian artist Naomi Raine, ”The first experience I had with your music was “Jireh.’” She continued, “It makes me cry every time I hear it. It is so beautiful.”
Bream received a K-Love Book Impact award nomination for “The Love Stories of the Bible Speak: Biblical Lessons on Romance, Friendship, and Faith.” She shared that her new book’s audience differs from her previous books.
“What’s been so interesting to me is that I’ve had men and women—couples—say we’re reading this together, we’re studying it together,” Bream says. “I love hearing that couples are doing the book together.”
“Love Stories of The Bible looks at romance, friendship, community and God’s unconditional love,” Bream says. Movieguide® previously reported on the release of the book:
This is the third in this trilogy, and it is full of what we’re all looking for which is love in our lives. Whether it’s romantic, whether it’s friendship, there are so many fascinating examples in the Bible,” Bream explained in a Fox News interview.
One story from the book that she shared was the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
“These three friends were stripped out of their homelands…and they said ‘We will not abandon our God,’” she explained. “When they were threatened with being thrown in a furnace, they said ‘Okay, you can throw us in. We know our God can save us, but even if he doesn’t, we’re going to stand firm.’”
“We all need those friends who stand with us in the fire.” This book is all about “love and friendship,” Bream added.
