With The CW’s SULLIVAN’S CROSSING sliding into No. 3 globally on Netflix’s charts, it got the go-ahead for another season.

The show had 3 million views and 22 million hours watched when it debuted on Netflix. Season 3’s finale just aired on The CW on July 16, Deadline reported.

The CW renewed it for Season 4 with 10 episodes.

“I’m very excited with the Season 4 renewal and am extremely grateful to have supportive partners who understand the value of my brand as well as the importance of producing comfort programming,” said executive producer Roma Roth. “It’s very gratifying to know SULLIVAN’S CROSSING is resonating so well with our global audience.”

The series is based on books by Robyn Carr, the same author of the VIRGIN RIVER novels. The show follows Maggie Sullivan, a neurosurgeon in legal trouble who returns to Nova Scotia to reconnect with her dad while dealing with her relationship with Cal Jones.

Morgan Kohan stars as Maggie, Chad Michael Murray stars as Cal and Scott Patterson stars as Maggie’s dad.

Season 3 sees the opening of a new restaurant, two surprise visitors and Maggie’s dishonesty coming to light as she reconciles with her heart. It’s already on Netflix in Canada, but U.S. fans will get to see it come Aug. 11.

The CW president Brad Schwartz said the success on Netflix “shows that we were right. We developed and created a big hit show and audiences are finding it wherever.”

“To be able to produce or co-produce these shows and have them be very successful for The CW, first and foremost, successful on The CW app and then be able to be monetized and maybe even find a whole new second window audience is [great],” he added.

SULLIVAN’S CROSSING was the most streamed show on The CW app in June. Average monthly viewers rose by 13% over last season last week. After it was added to Netflix, streams jumped by 153%.

It’s popularity on Netflix will drive viewers to The CW app.

“We’ve seen this before,” Schwartz said. “We’ve seen it with SCHITT’S CREEK. We’ve seen it with BREAKING BAD. We’ve seen it with RIVERDALE.”

“We’ve seen shows become really, really successful on their first window platform, and then find a whole [new] audience on the second window platform, and then that audience comes back and finds the new season.”

There are five books in the SULLIVAN’S CROSSING series, so there may be a few more seasons to come.

“I feel proud that we’ve created a show that millions of people are watching, and now millions more people are watching, and the goal for us is to be really good marketers, and to go find that audience that is finding it on Netflix and tell them, ‘Hey, Season 4 is coming to The CW,’” Schwartz said.

Fans are over the moon with the news.

“Great news! Thank you The CW! 😊,” one person wrote. “This has got to be another ultimate favorite show I’ve fallen in love with! The actors and actresses are absolutely remarkable!”

“Omgosh I love this show so much!! I can literally watch show after show all night. Please don’t make us wait that long! Hope it’s like Jan 2026 😍😍😍,” another commented.

There’s no specific date for Season 4 yet, but it should come out sometime in 2026 on The CW.
