Shawn Johnson East and Andrew East’s son Jett had a sweet — and hilarious — answer to who his favorite superhero is.
“Who’s your favorite superhero?” Andrew asked the 2-year-old during a recent episode of the pair’s “Couple Things” podcast.
Jett said, “My daddy,” to which the former football player replied, “I’m your favorite superhero?”
“Actually, Spider-Man and you,” Jett added.
Andrew and Shawn have been open about how much they enjoy parenting. The couple share three children — Drew, 5, Jett, and Barrett, 1.
“It’s almost like watching a masterpiece painting be drawn by an artist,” Andrew told PEOPLE of being a dad shortly after daughter Drew’s birth. “Every day you learn something new about your child, or you see something different about them. It’s just so fun to be able to watch that journey on a day-to-day basis.”
He continued, “At the end of the day, being a parent is the best part of life and it’s something to be really excited about. Of course, it’s hard and exhausting but it’s also really fun. It’s an honor to be a dad, so don’t let all of your worries and stress overshadow the fact that it’s awesome.”
“Drew is the greatest tiny human in the whole world, and I know we’re 100 percent biased in saying that, but I love every single day with her,” Shawn added. “I love seeing her grow, change and learn as she starts to become the person she’s meant to be. It’s obviously difficult and hard, and you go through tough challenges, but the most rewarding thing is seeing her just light up and be her little self.”
Now that he and Shawn have tackled the tough task of parenting, the couple are taking on a whole new challenge — they were both recently confirmed as contestants on Season 4 of SPECIAL FORCES: WORLD’S TOUGHEST TEST.
“OK, we’ve been keeping a secret, and it’s out,” Shawn said in a recent Instagram story, per Us Weekly. “You all wanted us to do SPECIAL FORCES, both Andrew and I did. Highly recommend you watch.”

She added, “Yes, Andrew and I did it together. Yes, so many things happened including getting my face beaten. [The] cast is amazing, we’re literally all bonded for life.”
“game on @shawnjohnson,” Andrew wrote under a photo of the couple, joking, “still recovering.”
It looks like Andrew, alongside Olympic champion Shawn, will put his “superhero” status to the test in SPECIAL FORCES.
