Tim Tebow Urges Giving Life to Christ: ‘Jesus is Knocking’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Former professional football player Tim Tebow urged his fans to give their lives to Jesus.
“And maybe you’re thinking tonight, ‘I need help. I need a Savior. I’ve never put my faith in that guy Jesus. I’ve heard a lot about Him I know people talk about Him,'” he began. “But maybe tonight, for the first time, you actually believed that what Jesus did on the cross counted for you.”
“See, I believe the greatest reason why Jesus came to earth was on a rescue mission for humanity,” Tebow explained. “That’s how much He loves you. He chose your best interest. He acted on your behalf. And He was the ransom for you and for me. He paid my price. That’s how loved you are.”
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. Anyone who hears my voice and opens the door I will come in and dine with him and he with me,” Tebow recited Revelation 3:20 before adding, “You see, I believe that Jesus is knocking on the door of some people’s hearts.”
“But the choice is up to you,” he continued. “Many of you could do what I did and say, ‘Nah, I’m good, Jesus. I don’t want you. I don’t need you.’ And think that you could make it on your own. Or you could say, ‘Man. Yeah, I know I can’t. But I will open the door. And I know you’ll come in.'”
“I believe Jesus is knocking on the door of some people’s hearts who are watching this video. Is this you? Is He knocking on the door of your heart right now? Let Him in. It will be the greatest decision you ever make in life!” he wrote in the caption.
Tebow frequently encourages his followers to seek God’s will for their lives. At the Passion Conference a few years ago, he revealed God’s purpose for every person.
“You see on the macro, I believe every single one of us has the same mission: To love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and to love your neighbor as yourself…But, I also believe that every single one of us, we have a micro-mission — something that God has designed exactly for you,” he said.
“We have a micro-purpose, something designed exactly for you, that is only for you because before you were ever born, the God of this universe wrote a poem that in Christ Jesus is a masterpiece for good things for you to do,” Tebow added. “And guess what, your poem is just for you. It’s only for you. There is something so unique and special that is just for you. In Christ Jesus, you’re a masterpiece.”
Part of the former NFL star’s purpose is to serve the Most Vulnerable People (the MVP).
“The Tim Tebow Foundation exists to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. We strive to fight for the Most Vulnerable People in the world—the MVP—through our work in our four main focuses in Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation, Orphan Care + Prevention, Profound Medical Needs, and Special Needs Ministry,” his foundation’s website reads.

Former NFL star Tim Tebow knew his God-given purpose from a young age.
“One of the greatest calls on my life is to fight for people that can’t fight for themselves,” he said on Instagram. “When I was 15 and in the jungles of the Philippines…I met a boy who was born with his feet on backwards. He was a throwaway to his village. But I knew that day he wasn’t a throwaway to God. I probably haven’t done it very well, but I’ve known that I was supposed to fight for boys and girls, men and women, hurting people all around the world that were viewed as less than. Because to God, nobody is.”
Because of that mission, Tebow founded the Tim Tebow Foundation, which is dedicated to fighting for people who can’t fight for themselves.
“Our heart at @timtebowfoundation is to fight for the Most Vulnerable People, the MVP— those who have been viewed as less than, insignificant or cursed, who have been thrown away, abandoned, trafficked or orphaned, or are in need of life-changing medical intervention,” he wrote. “Just as every life is valuable to God, every life is valuable to us at TTF.”
