‘Dream Come True’: Zach Williams Teams Up With Dolly Parton for New Duet
By Movieguide® Contributor
Zach Williams just released an extended edition of “A Hundred Highways,” featuring collaborations with Dolly Parton and Lee Brice.
Williams and Parton, who previously worked with him on “There Was Jesus,” teamed up again for “Lookin’ For You,” while the country singer and Brice duetted on “Walls Fall Down.”
Talking about how his second collaboration with Parton came about, Williams said, “We were filming Dolly’s Christmas special in 2022, and Dolly asked me what I had been working on. I was about to release the ‘A Hundred Highways’ album, and I told her that I had this one song that is probably my favorite on the album called ‘Lookin’ For You.’ I played it through my phone on set for her.”
“And I about fell over when I heard it, I thought it was the best thing,” Parton added. “I told him, ‘Well, there’s another big hit for you! But, did you forget to ask ME to sing on it with you?’”
The pair got into the studio and recorded the track, along with a music video for “Lookin’ For You.”
“I thought I was lucky to record ONE song with Dolly,” Williams wrote in an Instagram post. “But to do a second is a dream come true.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Williams and Parton’s latest collaboration:
Williams recently revealed that he and Parton will be teaming up for another duet.
“I have a new song coming out,” he told CCM Magazine. “The song’s called ‘Looking For You.’”
Williams explained that, while working together on the country icon’s MOUNTAIN MAGIC CHRISTMAS special, he shared what he had been working on.
“And she said, ‘I’d love to sing on that,’” he said. “So, I’ve got a new single coming out with Dolly again. Never in your wildest dreams do you think it’ll happen once, much less twice!”
In addition to the extended version of his album, Williams also recently released a memoir, “Rescue Story.”
“This has been a labor of love, and taken a lifetime to write,” the singer wrote. “This book is a story of grace that everyone can read, and I hope ‘Rescue Story’ can help shape YOUR story in a powerful way.”
