JUST A CHANCE, a semi-biographical video presentation by Vincent LaRusso, is a hard-hitting, often brutal, but ultimately hopeful exploration of the criminal lifestyle, gang violence, and the various inner torments that either cause or result from such involvement. Vincent LaRusso stars as Danny, an ex-gang member serving time in prison. During the course of an interview on gangs with a newspaper reporter, Danny reveals the tragic story of his descent into a life of drugs and crime.

JUST A CHANCE is driven by Vincent LaRusso’s powerful performance as Danny. His confidant and impassioned delivery gives realism to the story, as well as a depth that is difficult to achieve in a 40 minute movie. Mr. LaRusso’s performance recently earned him a Best Actor award in the Miami International Drug Film Festival. The violence in JUST A CHANCE is much like it would be in a stage play, which is to say that although some brutal scenes are depicted, they are not presented with gory realism. JUST A CHANCE does not shrink from depicting gang life as it is, but it does not cross the line into obscene displays of violence. JUST A CHANCE should be commended for its insightful look into the mind and heart of a reformed gang member.
