More Detail:

SNEAKERS is a tame comedy caper that boasts an impressive cast headed by Robert Redford and Ben Kingsley. Although the film is funny and entertaining, the values portrayed are often subversive and deceitful.

SNEAKERS opens in 1969. Two college computer hackers, Marty and Cosmos, break into their university’s central computer. When Marty leaves for pizza, police arrest Cosmos. Years later, Marty (Robert Redford) has a company that breaks into computers to test their security systems. Marty is hired by two National Security Agency operatives to steal a black box that can access any computer. Marty delivers the box to the NSA. However, when they discover the agents are phony, they realize they must retrieve the box. Cosmos (now working for the Mob) is the man who has the black box. Marty overcomes all obstacles to defeat Cosmos and retrieve the black box, thereby saving the world from destruction.

The underlying motives of the characters are subversion, blackmail and revenge. Marty lies and steals to accomplish his goals. Although these characters ultimately do the right thing, their underhanded methods do not uphold biblical values, but rather deny them.
