What You Need To Know:
THE ROOKIE is an intense and compelling show, and the opening to Season 6 does not shy away from large action set pieces. The series maintains its positive outlook on law enforcement and John’s insistence on protecting and serving his community, even at the risk of his own life. There is no foul language or objectionable sexual content. However, the crime scenes and intense shootouts between the police and the criminals are graphic and bloody, especially for a TV-14 series. Despite these elements, this episode is still a largely moral and positive display of the first responder’s sacrifice and hard work.

More Detail:
The episode then fast-forwards sex weeks to John’s final shift with the police force before taking time off to get married. Not only is John faced with unforeseen obstacles that could put a damper on the big day, but his team struggles to maintain control in their investigation of who is behind the attacks and the robbery.
THE ROOKIE is an exciting cop drama with a breakneck pace. Season 6 is no different, as it immediately throws audiences into the action. The series emphasizes John’s resolve to do his duty and shows how he and his team put their lives on the line each day to protect their community and those they love.
Like the series, the episode is refreshingly clean, with no foul language or sexual content. However, MOVIEGUIDE does warn audiences that the shootouts, heists, and hostage situations could be highly intense for younger viewers and are also surprisingly bloody. Ultimately, THE ROOKIE episode one of Season 6 continues the show’s exciting pace and sets up several plot points for future episodes. It highlights the honor and integrity of the police department, and John, as a shining example of how all cops should treat those around them.
