What You Need To Know:
know her father, Everett, who is at odds with Vernon, her co-worker at the town clinic. Elsewhere, Preacher prepares to face the first day of his murder trial. VIRGIN RIVER is well-made, with beautiful shots of the small town and interesting plotlines that will leave viewers anxiously waiting to see what happens next.
The first episode of Season 6 of VIRGIN RIVER has a moral worldview, as the show’s characters are always willing to help and support one another, ex. Mel’s “sewing circle” volunteers to fix her dress, and Jack pledges to support Preacher. However, there is some excessive language and a plot line that involves one character lying to another about their relationship to steal his money. There is also some alcohol use, as well as a scene with two unmarried people sleeping in bed together and an unmarried couple preparing to welcome a baby, so MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution.

More Detail:
The episode opens with Mel and her friends attending a wedding dress fitting. However, disaster strikes when the store where she ordered the dress gives her the wrong one. Her “sewing circle” friends promise to fix the dress in time for the wedding and ask some pointed questions about Everett, Mel’s father, and the tense relationship he has with Vernon, the town’s doctor.
Later, Mel and Jack, her husband-to-be, have dinner with Everett, who is unwilling to share much about his past, including any details about Mel’s mother and their relationship. While eating, Mel notices Everett is having difficulty breathing, but he waves her off.
Elsewhere, Preacher prepares for his court date. He is being accused of murdering Wes, an ex-cop who was physically abusing his ex-wife, Paige. Jack worries about what will happen to his friend but promises to stand by his side, no matter what.
Mel goes to Everett to raise concerns about his breathing problems, and the two argue. Everett starts experiencing chest pain, and Mel rushes him to the clinic. Vernon diagnoses him with Atrial fibrillation, but the pair’s relationship continues to be argumentative. When Mel takes him home, Everett promises to open up more about his relationship with her mother.
The first day of Preacher’s trial arrives, and Jack goes to the courthouse to support him. At the last minute, his attorney, Brie, is given an updated witness list — the prosecution is calling Jack to testify against Preacher.
