Content:

(BBB, CCC, ACACAC, V) Very strong moral worldview with very strong Christian allegory at the end, as well as very strong, overt anti-Communist, pro-democracy, animal farm dialogue and action, with self-sacrifice, mutual support, forgiveness, kindness, determination to do the right thing, loyalty, never giving up on others, and clear old fashioned virtues; no foul language but a couple jokes with innuendoes such as Barbi admires Ken’s ascot, some very slight homosexual suggestions that are rebuked by the action, reference to sandbox where “Lincoln Logs” are not “Lincoln Logs,” pea children hide in the rear end of another toy, and Ken offers to show Barbie his clothes at his dream house “where the magic happens”; some light comic and action violence with toys in danger from rough handling by children in day care center, being taken apart and headed for destruction with the rest of the trash; Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head kiss and love each other, Ken and Barbie and Buzz and Jessie show attraction for each other, Barbie dresses as Ken but continues to wear high heels, causing Bookworm to suggest Ken is homosexual, and Ken displays some very slight cross-dressing tendencies in the credits; no nudity; no alcohol; no smoking; and, nothing else objectionable.

More Detail:

TOY STORY 3 is one of the best movies of the year – another impressive, delightful, hilarious, and heartwarming animated classic from Pixar and Disney.

In the story, Andy is finally going away to college. He wants to put his toys in the attic, but accidently, his mother gives away all his toys except Woody to Sunnyside Daycare. Woody, the ultimate good guy sheriff who never ever gives up on doing the right thing and protecting his constituents, tries to rescue the toys, who are in danger of being destroyed by the rambunctious young children at the day care center, especially the bratty ones. Slowly, the undisciplined daycare children start destroying the toys piece by piece.

It turns out that the villains are not the children, but some of the other toys, who serve a dictator Lots-O-Huggin Bear named Lotso. Lotso has turned Sunnyside into an Animal Farm, Communist Concentration camp. As the good guys try to escape, Barbie rebukes the dictator and tells Lotso that government is from the consent of the governed.

Working with some of the new friends they’ve found, the toys escape from the day care center but some of them end up in the garbage. Who will rescue them from being destroyed with the rest of the trash as they travel down the conveyor belt to the fiery furnace reminiscent of Hell?

TOY STORY 3 is funny, playful and highly entertaining. You will cheer, cry and laugh until your buttons pop. It is so poignant at times that the tears flow freely. It will help every parent and child reflect on their life.

The movie is plotted perfectly. The direction and voice acting capture and move the audience. At the screening, the audience cheered.

Some of the movie is very scary with the characters almost crossing the line into horror, so be forewarned.

Best of all, the movie presents a powerful, poignant picture of being delivered and redeemed.

Pixar and Disney have hit another home run with TOY STORY 3.

By the way, the opening cartoon, DAY AND NIGHT, usually a Pixar treat, is a propagandistic, tedious diatribe on accepting and even loving differences as two asexual, male type characters learn to love each other while a radio voice chastises the audience for being too conservative by rejecting change. That said, this short can be explained in different ways, such as in God’s creation there is no fear of the unknown, but in humanist, chaotic, evolutionary worldviews, there is fear because there is no God of love who designed the universe. So, help your children see beyond the obvious interpretation of the animated short.
