New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson continues to use his platform to share the gospel, even in his offseason.

“To the one who feels as if they are too far gone, stop letting the devil lie to you. I’m living proof that you are not too far gone,” Henderson shared on Instagram earlier this week. “Christ didn’t come for the perfect one, He came for the one who acknowledges that they are a sinner and in need for a savior.”

He shared Luke 15:7 in the caption, which says, “In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!”

Henderson quoted another verse, Luke 5:31-32, which says, “Jesus answered them, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.'”

“The devil calls you by your sin, but Christ calls you by name!” he wrote. “Jesus is calling you out of sin and into a relationship with Him if you believe and receive Him as your Lord and Savior.”

“Come out of hiding, come out of shame, and come to Christ!” the running back encouraged, concluding the post with 2 Corinthians 5:17.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” the verse reads.

Henderson, who calls himself a “Follower of Jesus Christ” in his Instagram bio, made his mark in the NFL this season when he scored three touchdowns in one November game.

“I can’t do it without Jesus,” he told the media after the game.

“I’ve just been staying patient, trusting in the Lord’s plan,” he continued. “Just continuing to do my part, and the rest I just leave up to him.”

Any chance he gets, Henderson uses his gifts, talents and his platform to speak the name of Jesus. The running back has been saved by grace; he understands what Jesus has done for him and the joy Jesus has brought to his life. Henderson wants the same for everyone who follows him.
