More Detail:

Two vice cops go undercover at a sadomasochism resort to crack a diamond smuggling case and protect an photo-journalist caught in the espionage. With a plot about as thick as a thong bikini and barely enough humor to fill a quick commercial break, EXIT TO EDEN serves only to insult the intelligent, offend the moral and titillate the perverse and bored. Frustrated by his inability to sustain a meaningful relationship, sexually-perverse Elliott Slater (Paul Mercurio) enlists the help of sexual therapist Dr. Martin Halifax (Hector Elizondo). The dubious “doctor” recommends a therapeutic visit to an island fantasy resort run by Mistress Lisa (Dana Delany) which specializes in freedom from repressed sexual anxiety through sadomasochism. Elliott falls for Mistress Lisa when she unlocks his secret passions; Lisa falls for Elliott for no apparent reason; the cops catch the bad guys; and, lots of people take their clothes off.

On the surface too stupid to be taken seriously, but far more dangerous and insulting upon deeper analysis, EXIT TO EDEN is no more than an excuse to expose flesh and promote perversity. With little storyline, no character development, horrible acting, tacky costuming, and tepid humor, this “comedy” from the director of PRETTY WOMAN is no comedy but an exercise in promoting “alternative lifestyles.”
