New Podcast Offers Inspiration from Christian Influencers

By Ben Kayser, Managing Editor

A new podcast titled CIA: CONTAGIOUS INFLUENCERS OF AMERICA released their first episode on March 15th which is hosted by David Sams and produced in association with KeepTheFaith and Contagious Audio Networks. The first episode covers the new faith-based movie I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, which tells the story of the most-played Christian contemporary song of all time, “I Can Only Imagine” by the band MercyMe and the lead singer, Bart Millard who overcame a broken relationship with his father. Sams sat down with Dennis Quaid who played Bart’s father Arthur, and Quaid described his first reaction to reading the script and to listening to the song for the first time. The song’s impact on people’s lives is still making waves today, and the podcast features a moving compilation of KeepTheFaith listeners who called in to tell their own transformational stories involving the song.

The first episode also features an interview between David Sams and contemporary Christian artist Bart Millard and Amy Grant. Amy Grant is an integral part of the story of I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, because not only did Grant’s music inspire Millard’s childhood, but Amy Grant as shown in the movie almost opened the song “I Can Only Imagine” as her own song, but last minute decided it wasn’t her story to tell. Millard talks about what it was like to see his life on the big screen, and Grant shares how the song impacted her life.

CIA: CONTAGIOUS INFLUENCES OF AMERICA is a well produced, engaging podcast with great interviews. Subscribe to the show on your podcast app of choice or listen to the first episode below. Future episodes will feature guests Jim Caveziel, Scott Hamilton, Mike Lindell and Lee Strobel.
