9 Movie Characters That Demonstrate the Fruit of The Spirit

By Movieguide® Staff

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

– Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV)

There’s nothing like good character, and good characters would be nothing without their character traits! Let’s take a moment to appreciate some movie characters that demonstrate some of the fruits of the spirit as described in Galatians 5.

Love: THE GAME PLAN shows NFL football player, Joe Kingman, played by Dwayne Johnson as he learns he has a young daughter. Audiences see his attitude grow from selfishness to love as he develops a bond with her. At the end of the movie, his love for his child is what truly motivates him to be a better person. Review.

Joy: SING is about a Koala bear named Buster Moon (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) as he tries to put together a singing talent show to save a theater from going out of business. Of course, there are ups and downs, but Buster learns to draw encouragement from the amazing voices of participants and exude joy all along the way! Review

In fact, her kindness fuels the Evil Queen’s jealousy of her as she longs to become, “fairest of them all.” Thankfully Snow-White lives to tell the tale. Review
