Sadie Robertson Huff Says Her Faith in God Keeps Her Grounded

By Cooper Dowd, Staff Writer

Starring in DUCK DYNASTY at age 14 and receiving a spot on DANCING WITH THE STARS at 17, Sadie Robertson Huff said that Jesus grounded her when she became a public figure at an early age and grounds her in her marriage with Christian Huff today.

“My life just dramatically changed really fast,” Robertson Huff told Fox News. “You think about how social media affects any young person and then think about social media with millions of followers… [it] definitely will affect you in certain ways.”

Not only did she gain a public voice at a young age, but her social media following grew consistently over the years, and now the 23-year-old sits at over 3 million followers on Instagram. Robertson Huff noted that without God, this would have been a source of insecurities.

“Not that I didn’t struggle with insecurity and didn’t have my hard days, but I felt like I always had just a grounding, you know, to not just completely lose it,” Robertson Huff said.

She recognized how her grounding in the faith at a young age has carried into the pandemic’s uncertain times, offering her hope and peace.

“It’s definitely been a huge, huge source of hope for me,” Robertson Huff said. “We have hope that God is still with us here, to give us strength, to give us joy, to give us peace, to make us feel loved in the midst of a time where the world is really throwing things at you.”

Robertson Huff recently married Christian Huff in November. Although she said they’ve had a few arguments, she has enjoyed this time deepening her relationship with her husband and with God.

Movieguide® reported on the Huff wedding:

Sadie Robertson Huff wisely said that a significant other should help one get closer to God.

“I have heard it said and I’ll repeat it – ask yourself is that person helping you, helping you get closer to God and be a better person,” said Sadie.

The DUCK DYNASTY alum cited the Bible when describing why peoples can have a distorted view on marriage.

“Its not shocking that there is a lot of confusion on the idea of it. In Genesis 3, we see that there is an enemy,” said the 23-year-old.

However, God made marriage for partnership and help.

“Yup, that’s just the beauty of God’s original design. To have someone to help,” said Robertson Huff.

Robertson Huff is using her influence to help host a virtual concert for COVID-19 relief called “Unite to Fight Poverty.” The event seeks to aid many vulnerable developing countries.

“I’ve seen kids who are hungry and who are living in poverty and who can’t afford clothes, who can’t afford school, can’t afford water. So when you see that and you’re able to see the impact that your giving can make, you become an advocate for it,” Robertson Huff said.

The virtual concert will feature Christian artists and celebrities such as Kirk Franklin, Hillsong, Tobymac, and Steven Curtis Chapman.
