BACHELOR’s Ben Higgins Is Hitched: ‘This Is Something My Family Has Prayed For’

A fan-favorite of the popular ABC show THE BACHELOR, Ben Higgins is now married to Jessica Clarke.

Higgins, who competed on the 20th season of the franchise, said he prayed about his future wife and celebrated his recent marriage to Clarke by sharing scripture.

“Tomorrow the guests begin to flood into Nashville for the wedding,” Higgins shared before the ceremony. “My heart is at peace and my amazement continues that I get to marry @jessclarke_. She brings me to praise and thankfulness everyday (for the last 3 years). This is something I have dreamed of, my family has prayed for, and now we will celebrate!”

According to People, Clarke and Higgins shared personal vows, shared “quotes from Winnie-the-Pooh,” and read Scripture.

BACHELOR alumni who attended the wedding included Wells Adams, Nick Viall, Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs, Jared Haibon, and Ashley Iaconnetti.

“I am so excited,” Higgins, 32, told People. “We have so much to look forward to. And I know we will have a beautiful marriage.”

The couple started dating in 2018 and were engaged in March 2020.

“Ben doesn’t just make me want to be a better person, but he actually makes me a better person,” Clarke told People. “He assures me in all of my dreams and all of my goals. I never thought I’d have a partner that accepted every part of me.”

“Jessica is so incredibly empathetic and caring. She encourages me and she supports me and I know she cares about who I am and where I’m going. I’m so excited that I get to love her — and be loved by her — every single day,” he added.

Higgins is outspoken about his Christian faith and how it became the foundation of his relationship with Clarke.

Movieguide® previously reported:

Higgins, 31, discusses the details of his time as a reality TV star, past break-ups, his addiction to pain killers, and how God led him through all of it.

“I believe in the values of others because I believe everybody matters,” Higgins said. “What is God’s desire of me? And trust me, every day is a different kind of battle. Every day is not that clear but the journey gives purpose to everything. It’s just kind of giving up everything I thought I knew and at the end of the day, like, if I’m loving others and loving God, I’m on the right track.”

Higgins wants to encourage readers of his memoir that they are not alone.

“What I learned throughout the writing process was that a lot of times it felt like people were missing the mark [about me] or I was misunderstood [by the public],” Higgins told Fox News. “Kind of going back to the title, I felt like I was alone, yet people thought they knew me. What I realized is a lot of people feel this way. So, yes, this book was about me, but also about anybody else who people just assume they know in life.”
