Katy Nichole And Big Daddy Weave Team Up For New Single ‘God Is In This Story’

Katy Nichole and Big Daddy Weave have come together for a new single, “God Is In This Story,” and the musicians opened up about what inspired the collaboration.

In a press release about the song, the lead singer of Big Daddy Weave, Mike Weaver, shared: “It’s been a really difficult season of saying goodbye to my brother and missing him, but also a time of realizing that there’s so much more for us to do.”

Weaver’s brother, Jay Weaver, passed away earlier this year from COVID-19.

“This is a song of hope, a song of encouragement, that God really is present with us in all of the seasons of our lives – the really great ones and the ones that are difficult. God is not giving up on us. He is in the details of our lives. We can trust Him that He is working things together for our good,” Weaver said.

Nichole added: “The one thing that we all have in common is that we all have a story to tell. Looking back on my life, I always thought, ‘Oh, my story is too broken, and no one is going to want to hear about that.’ But what I didn’t know is that people were actually seeing Jesus through my story, because God was turning the broken things into beautiful things. So if you think that your story is too broken, I promise you that it’s not because God is in it.”

“God Is In This Story” is not the first time Nichole and Big Daddy Weave have worked together. Nichole joined the band on their spring 2022 tour as an opening act. The friendship they struck up while touring is what inspired her to ask them to collaborate with her on “God Is In This Story.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Nichole’s recent K-Love Award win:

Katy Nichole was one of the many artists who were celebrated and honored at this year’s K-Love Awards, and she opened up about her feelings about her award in an Instagram post.

“I cannot believe that I won the K-LOVE fan award for ‘Worship song of the year,’” Nichole captioned a photo of herself holding the award. “I am so so grateful. Thank you so much for voting and showing your love and support for this song!! What an honor and a blessing it has been to witness how God has been using ‘In Jesus Name’ (God Of Possible).”

“The thing that means the most to me is when I hear the stories of how God has been moving in your life through this song. I am still blown away and I am just pouring out my thanks to Jesus right now,” Nichole concluded.

Nichole was one of many who received K-Love Awards, including For King & Country, Matthew West, and Anne Wilson.
