Actress Letitia Wright: ‘God’s Healing Is Truly Amazing’

Letitia Wright, who rose to fame for her portrayal as the princess Shuri in BLACK PANTHER, recently praised God in her Instagram story.
“God’s healing is truly amazing,” the actress captioned the story, which included a photo of the upcoming WAKANDA FOREVER poster.
One year ago, Wright was hospitalized after an injury on the movie’s set.
As Movieguide® previously reported:
“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon,” a spokesperson for Marvel said Wednesday.
As of Thursday, she was released from the hospital.
Deadline reports that the incident occurred in Boston, though the movie is primarily shooting in Atlanta. Sources told Deadline that the incident was minor and will not impact the shooting schedule.
Wright is expected to be one of the main characters in the BLACK PANTHER sequel, perhaps taking on the Black Panther mantle after co-star Chadwick Boseman, who played T’Challa, died in 2020.
Wright is very vocal about her Christian faith and continually shares Scripture, especially when facing trials.
After Wright’s on-set incident, The Hollywood Reporter published a story about Wright’s behavior, which the actress labeled as false.
“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me, knows that I work incredibly hard at my craft & my main focus is always to do work that’s impactful and inspiring. That has been & will continue to be my only focus,” Wright said. “I will continue to hold onto Gods hands, and onto the scripture of Isaiah 54:17. I continue to focus on my healing. Thank you for your prayers. And I continue to pray for Gods love, peace & joy for you all. God bless you.”
