Paramount+ And Showtime Are The Latest Streaming Services To Merge

Paramount+ and Showtime recently announced that they would combine their platforms into a single streaming app.
According to Deadline:
New subscribers will be able to sign up for Paramount+ With Showtime for $7.99 a month for the basic, ad-supported service and $12.99 for the ad-free version. Current subscribers can upgrade to the bundle within their app. After the introductory discount ends October 2, the bundle will cost $11.99 with ads or $14.99 without them. Subscribers interested in having only Showtime, without Paramount+, will still be able to get it for $10.99 a month as a stand-alone offering as well as through third-party distributors.
This news is just the latest announcement of streaming platforms and channels combining.
Warner Bros. made waves when they announced they would be merging HBO Max and Discovery+, which has led to some shows being removed from the HBO Max streaming platform.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service HBO Max recently announced that it would remove 36 titles from the platform.
According to an HBO spokesperson, the change in the HBO Max catalog is in preparation for the platform’s eventual merge with Warner Bros. Discovery’s other streaming service, Discovery+.
“As we work toward bringing our content catalogs together under one platform, we will be making changes to the content offering available on both HBO Max and discovery+,” HBO Max wrote in a statement. “That will include the removal of some content from both platforms.”
The recent announcement saw the most considerable number of titles removed, including 20 original HBO Max shows like the Sesame Street spinoff, THE NOT-TOO-LATE SHOW WITH ELMO, and “a select group of ‘Sesame Street’ specials.”
Disney was one of the first to bundle their services with other streamers, offering subscribers Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu in a package deal.
