Korie Robertson Encourages Followers: ‘Pace Yourself For The Marathon Of Life’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Korie Robertson recently shared an inspiring message for women who might feel like they aren’t able to achieve everything they want.

Robertson posted photos with some of the female members of her family with the caption, “To all of you women out there feeling the pressure to do it all: I totally remember those feelings and here’s what I want to say…YOU HAVE TIME.”

Her caption continued:

If you look at your life like a marathon, not a sprint you will have more peace in each moment. You can stop along the way and get the drink of water and enjoy the cold orange. You can look around at the people cheering you on, read the encouraging signs along the way, dance to the live music at mile 7 (if you’ve never run a marathon you might not get these references, but just go with it, ha)

I think what helped me the most to see life this way is seeing my mom and grandmother who are now 69 and 91 and have lived and ARE LIVING beautiful amazing lives! My grandmother stayed home and raised 6 kids. She didn’t work outside the home until after they were all grown and then went on to work with my grandad in real estate, moved to Tennessee for a time for work, then back to Louisiana. After he passed away she continued to run their real estate company, became the President of the Board of Realtors for the entire state of Louisiana until she retired at 84! Since then she’s traveled with friends, hosted a home church, enjoyed her family. and so much more!

My mom went back to finish college after we all started school and worked in education for years, and @campchyoca every summer and still does. She later joined my dad in their publishing co Howard Books. Since that time she has authored and co-authored many books, developed radio shows and podcasts, conferences and speaking events, spent a semester in England, hosted more people than I could ever count in her home, played in tennis leagues, taken care of all of us, her kids, grands and now great-grandkids! I’m just scratching the surface of all that she’s had time to do!

“I really believe as women we can do it all, but we don’t have to feel the pressure to do it all at once,” Robertson concluded. “Pace yourself for the marathon of life. If your life turns out to not be as long as you hoped it would be, consider what are the things you would wish you had spent your time on and do those things now, save the rest for later. Enjoy the moment! At 48, I’m just getting started!”

Movieguide® previously reported on one of Robertson’s heartfelt social media messages:

DUCK DYNASTY’s Korie Robertson is reflecting on what it’s like to watch her children grow up and enter new phases of their lives in a touching Instagram post.

“This season of life is full of new chapters!” she captioned a photo of herself with son Willie. “Now that I have a few more years behind me, it seems like the end of your teens and early 20’s are full of really short chapters…new school, new semester, new city, new roomate, new friends, a new major, new apartment, new job, new city, perhaps marriage, another move, maybe kids…all of this happens in a relatively short period of your life. It’s kind of crazy actually!”

Her caption continued:

Watching ours experience these chapters of their life right now and they are whizzing by! I know though in the moment it doesn’t always feel this way. When you’re in the middle of it, it can feel long, never-ending even, the unknowing of what’s next, the uncertainty of the length of this chapter before you “get to” move on to the next can be unsettling.

As I have been thinking about this lately and praying about this for our own kids, I just want to encourage you to:

1-lay all of your worries, fears, questions, at God’s feet. Worrying doesn’t add a thing to your life. He is the one who has numbered your days, and HIS WAYS ways are so much better than ours!

2-Be PRESENT exactly where you are and be GRATEFUL for this moment. In whatever stage you find yourself, God is there. He will never leave you, and you certainly aren’t going to miss him…He’s everywhere, and He promises to be with you!

Trusting in Him, one day you will look back and see all of what you thought were detours, all of the chapters that were a struggle, that seemed long and full of the hard, were actually guidance, growth, learning, protection, maybe even gifts.

I’m getting to watch my kids do this and it’s the greatest blessing!
